I've been trying to get it working with HDMI from a Raspberry Pi. Hopefully the EDID is not stored in PROM meaning that the chip has to be physically replace. I too believe that this is an issue related to EDID relay. It maybe that the EEPROM will need to be flashed and updated and i hope this can be done via Thunderbolt. The Minis were bought to do some live streaming for the BBC and at least SDI works but i would dearly love HDMI to work as well.

I also tested HDMI in using an Ultra Studio 3D on the same Mac and that worked fine. Not great customer service but i i'm still hoping that Black Magic can fix this and it's not a hardware issue. Not how they tested or even if they checked the HDMI. The only thing i could get out of the test guy was that they use the latest Macs with Retina display. The feedback from Black Magic Europe support was that a couple of Mini's had been returned by customers as the HDMI was not working and Black Magic had tested them, found them to be fine and returned them. I know he was only the test guy and yes the manager wasn't there but i am still a customer no matter how cheap the product may be. I rang to the European Black Magic support and the guy i spoke to was rather abrasive to say the least. Their suggestion was to try it on an OS version lower than 10.7.5 but i don't intend to down grade my Mac Pro. I rang Jigsaw24 the supplier as i had raised concerns and ask when the fix would be ready.

I tested the HDMI out on a TV first to make sure there was a signal. No problem getting SDI to work but HDMI would not wake up even after trying with 3 different cameras and even the HDMI output from the Mac Book itself. I tested the 2 x Ultra Studio Mini on a 15" Retina Mac Pro running 10.8.2.
